Parkwood YMCA. Front desk people are nice....Nice place with all the weights, a pool, & treadmill room one could want or need for a low monthly membership fee of $ 70-80/month. Not sure how all those companies that aren't nonprofit companies can offer mostly the same things for $ 20-30 a month. The Y is open early for early birds & late for after work people. New TVs in the treadmill room but they're timed out & off every single day. It must be too difficult to figure out how to keep them from "timing out & reverting to a black screen. Oh & there's 1 fan that everyone gets to share that gets moved around a lot. The membership fees just went up to $ 76ish a month. I guess it's too expensive to buy a few more fans and figure out how to keep the TVs from turning off......YMCA mgmt ??? (Constructive feedback)... I know it's difficult being a non profit nowadays & not paying taxes on revenue coming in & being in tune with the needs of the people paying the monthly membership fees ...

Smells like feet and cheese. there's a man there who won't stop shrieking. He doesn't stink though. He smells nice actually. Like pine and charred woodcress. Hint of lime.

I travel to various states and get a chance to visit the YMCA in those states. This particular YMCA (Parkwood) could use improving in the following areas: The Staff and patrons don't seem as friendly, as I have been going here for several weeks and haven't been much spoken to. Jordan, a Staff member, has been attentive, and was friendly in speaking with me and seemed genuinely kind. I have chosen not to use the weights here, as they look like they came from somewhere 30 years ago, and not made real solid. I haven't experienced the pool, as it seems to be abundantly used by a number of women, which is proper of course. However, the dressing/locker rooms look like pictures from Schindler's List of the naked women...except here, they don't bother to even cover private parts. I could NEVER think of bringing my Grandchildren here...I would blush from shame. There are towels and wraps that ladies could purchase to not be so open to showing their stuff. I DON'T want to SEE their privates. Please, have some decency. It doesn't help that the showers are an open space (like some Team Gym or the Military). YMCA should be promoting decency (not allowing it to be so EXPOSED), by having b

Theresa, was incredibly confrontational and rude, literally had just walked into the pool area with my little brother and sat down, we were trying to make sure his mask and flippers fit because we’re going to florida next week, and she stormed up to us and said “YOU can wear that, HE cannot. We do NOT allow that here.” My dad politely tried to explain that we were literally just trying to check to make sure the mask didn’t leak and that his flippers fit his feet, she cut him off before he could barely get a word in, saying she runs the place and she does not allow that here. I’m not trying to say that she had to make an exception I don’t mind that at all, it was her approach to it that made the whole situation incredibly uncomfortable. We will never come back. Idk what kind of power trip she was on but yikes.

Not a fancy gym. Good cardio area, weight room is underground so no windows but at least it's cooler in the summer. Great classes and people. There's a tot watch and lane swimming too.
